Day 3

2017_PR Day 3 View 2

Woke up early so we could go snorkeling before we checked out of Villa Hermosa. Jim and I visited Tamarindo last year and loved the snorkeling there so we wanted to be sure the girls saw it too. We arrived there around 8 am. Matt and Tyler haven't snorkeled much so we were hoping we would see a lot. We were not disappointed.

We first came upon a small ray, then 4 sea turtles, then an area where they are trying to restore the coral that looked like an under ground farm, I actually spotted 3 squid and toward the end we saw a huge spotted eagle ray with a very long tail. All in all a very cool, refreshing snorkel trip and we ere done by 9:30 am!

On the way back to the house we dropped off the snorkel gear that we rented for Matt and Tyler and went back to our "chicken shack" to pack up and get ready to depart Culebra. Even though there were flaws to this place, you really can't beat the view!

Jim and Matt dropped us off at the ferry terminal (which was just down the hill) and they took the rental cars back to the airport. The ferry left at 1 pm and docked in Fajardo at 2 pm. We picked up our new rental cars from the ferry terminal.

Nicola and Tyler were both pretty sunburned from the previous day so we decided to stop at Luquillo Beach so they could buy rash guards. This also gave us an opportunity to eat a late lunch. We were successful in finding them and getting lunch but it took a while and we didn't get on the road until late so we ended up driving through rush hour traffic in San Juan - which sucked!

To get to our next house in Rincon, we had a "coordinate" of the location that we had to put in our iPhone. It did literally take us directly there but it was pitch dark and we really couldn't see anything so of course we missed the driveway which was incredibly narrow. We had to turn around to get there which was a challenge as well since we were literally right on the ocean - but we made it and arrived at Casa Blanca. We could hear the water but couldn't really see it. When we did pull into the driveway it went up a steep hill and we had to park at the top. Our place was on the fourth floor. I was too tired to look around too much but I was thrilled to see that this place was CLEAN!
