Celtic Colours - Day 0

JAMES: It was a fun get together at Katie and Matt’s house. Christine and John flew in and arrived about noon. They spent the afternoon in St. Paul hanging with Katie, Lou and Lupe. Nicci and Tyler picked us up at 3:45 and we made our way to St. Paul. Susan and I had prepared hamburgers and brats and Nicola brought a charcuterie board and made a lovely autumn salad of kale, sweet potato and roasted chick peas. Katie had taken John and Christine to Hot Hands, the incredible bakery by her house. They came home with two beautiful and tasty pies, a vanilla and a pear. It was a huge and sumptuous feast. We managed to also get an excellent group photo where almost everyone was looking at the camera.

After dinner we retreated to the TV room to corral the kids. Jack was busy and the center of attention. Eventually both kids were shuffled off to bed. At the same time, the Iowa football game was just starting. It was a late kickoff because the game was being played in Seattle. Unfortunately the TV room was needed as a landing spot for Lou so we all turned in very early.
