Island Fruits – Travel with the Tades

Jim is always ready to try a new fruit — here is the lychee fruit.

We dove and snorkeled again today. Jim had 4 other divers with him so Sierra had to dive with the group along with Francesca and I snorkeled alone. I couldn’t follow along with them because they went to the reef wall. But I stayed in the shallows near the boat and still saw a lot of beautiful fish and coral. With the sun shining down through the water, each coral head glistens and is a microcosm of the reef and all seem teeming with life. It really never gets old.

In the afternoon, we again drove around the west end of the island. We took the long way around to the grocery store avoiding Coxen Hole which has very narrow streets, lots of cars, people walking and motorcycles with really no organization. Everyone walks or drives wherever they can and it is really scary. It really is a major accident waiting to happen.

Around 4:30 pm we ended our day again in West End. We parked in a parking area before we got into the main drag in West End. Parking is impossible on the street. It too is very narrow and people are walking everywhere. There is no good side walk.

The restaurants are open air and many are right on the water.

The sunsets continue to be amazing.
